Solstice Mirror

Solstice Mirror is an app that offers a streamlined experience for sharing content in meeting and learning spaces, and offers a straightforward, no-frills approach to sharing content on a Solstice-enabled display. It’s ideal for quick meetups, impromptu brainstorming sessions, and educational environments where simplicity is key.

The app allows you to quickly share content from your phone or tablet to a Solstice display. It allows for screen mirroring, but does not allow you to control the display or play audio over the connection.

System requirements for Solstice Mirror are:

Mobile device: Android version 13 or 14.

To support Solstice Mirror connections, Solstice Pods must be on Solstice version 6.1.2 or higher. Solstice Mirror uses the same WebRTC technology approach used for the website share.mersive.com, which is the recommended sharing method for the Solstice Pods since the release of Solstice version 6.1.2.

How to Share Content Using Solstice Mirror

Download the app from Google Play.
Ensure you are connected to a network listed on the display’s Welcome Screen or a local network that the display is also connected to.
Open the app and enter the IP address of the Solstice display. The address is in the top right corner of the display's Welcome Screen. Tap Connect.
When prompted, enter the Screen Key that appears on the display.
Tap Mirror screen. A privacy statement appears.
Tap Start now to begin sharing.
When you are done sharing, tap Stop Mirroring.
Note
After you stop sharing to the display, you could experience loss of connection to the display after 1 minute. If this happens, tap Reconnect to refresh the connection.
To disconnect from the Solstice display, tap Disconnect.

Troubleshooting: "Having trouble connecting?" message in Solstice Mirror

When attempting to connect to a Pod using Solstice Mirror, you could experience a connection delay and may see a "Having trouble connecting?" message. There are several possible causes for this issue. Use the following troubleshooting table to find and correct the problem:

Possible Cause	Solution
Pod is not running the required Solstice version.	Update the Pod to Solstice version 6.1.2 or higher.
Pod and mobile device are not on the same network.	Change the network connection. Test by entering the Pod’s IP address into a web browser running on the mobile device. If the Welcome screen appears, the network connection is correct.
Web Sharing or Browser Sharing is not enabled on the Pod.	Enable Web Sharing through Solstice Cloud. Enable Browser Sharing through Solstice Dashboard.
The Pod is showing FQDN rather than the IP address.	Mobile device has auto-capitalized the first letter of the Pod address. Re-type the address into the app interface in lower case.
The network router the Pod is connected to is using the DNS rebinding protection security feature set.	Add “mersivepod.app” as an exception in the DNS rebinding protection feature on the network router.
Pod is not configured to use a Private IP address.	Consider moving the Pod from a Public IP address to a Private IP address. Solstice Mirror is not currently permitted to function with Pods using Public IPs, and it is designed to work with Solstice Pods configured to use private address space on the network. When Pods are assigned public IP addresses, the Mersive name servers do not respond to non-private xx-xx-xx-xx.mersivepod.app queries.
